Pluguffan and its surroundings
A peaceful countryside setting, with Quimper and the coast just a few minutes away

The QUB network notably provides services adapted to school timetables, serving several schools in Quimper.

  • Road links make it easy to travel to Quimper, Pont-l'Abbé and Douarnenez, all of which can be reached quickly from the area. The D785 provides access in particular to Quimper and Pont-l'Abbé, while the N165 connects to the main expressway in southern Finistère and facilitates travel towards Brest as well as Lorient and Nantes.
  • The coast can be reached in around twenty minutes, with the beaches of Sainte-Marine and Île-Tudy among the closest.
Here, the peace and quiet of the countryside goes hand in hand with a daily life that remains simple and practical : shops, schools, services and neighbouring towns are all easily accessible. It is therefore possible to enjoy the tranquillity of the surroundings without giving up easy access to everything needed for everyday life.
Cornouaille
Cornouaille, between land and sea
In the heart of a Cornouaille rich in heritage, culture and varied landscapes
Cornouaille and Quimper offer a region where a deeply Breton history, remarkable heritage and landscapes shaped by the land, rivers and coastline come together. From this part of Finistère, there is naturally much to discover, from the town and its heritage to wide open spaces and local food. Exploring its many attractions is enough to appreciate the full diversity of the area:
  • Discover Quimper, a Town of Art and History, through its historic centre, timber-framed houses, ramparts, the banks of the Odet and Saint-Corentin Cathedral, then enjoy a lively town where shopping streets, cafés, restaurants, museums, performances and numerous events offer plenty of opportunities to go out and spend time together.
  • Explore small historic towns such as Locronan, whose streets and old houses bear witness to its rich history, or stop in the towns and villages of Cornouaille to discover chapels, calvaries and other reminders of a heritage deeply rooted in Breton identity.
  • Follow the Odet and admire the landscapes of its valley, then take the paths that gradually lead towards the estuaries and the sea. Further afield, the ports, beaches and rocky coastline of Cornouaille reveal an entirely different horizon, all the way to the spectacular landscapes of Cap Sizun and Pointe du Raz.
  • Head for the coast, with its long beaches, harbours and maritime landscapes, from Audierne Bay to the Pays Bigouden, and discover this succession of coastlines that gives Cornouaille an identity deeply connected to the sea.
  • Taste a cuisine that tells, in its own way, part of the story of Cornouaille, with fish and seafood, buckwheat galettes, crêpes, kouign-amann, local produce and Breton ciders. This culinary tradition can be enjoyed in markets, crêperies and restaurants, as well as directly from local producers.
Cornouaille therefore brings together, within a single region, everything that makes southern Finistère so rich: a lively and cultural town, preserved heritage, deeply varied landscapes and the presence of the sea, felt even in the local cuisine and traditions.
Cornouaille Coast
A way of life shaped by the sea
With the sea close by, a familiar horizon that accompanies everyday life throughout the seasons
Here, the sea is never very far away. In around twenty minutes, the first beaches come into view, opening up a whole different world: the harbours of Sainte-Marine, the beaches of Combrit and Île-Tudy, walks by the water, terraces overlooking the Odet or long stretches of sand where you can simply enjoy the fresh air.

There are days when you set off for a real escape, a swim or a walk along the coast, and then there are all the others, when the sea simply becomes part of everyday life: going for a walk by the water, having a coffee in Sainte-Marine, taking a few steps along the quays of Île-Tudy or lingering over the view before heading home. The coast also lends itself to water sports, kayaking, paddleboarding, sea walking, cycling and walking along the coastal paths.

In Sainte-Marine, the small harbour, coves, pine trees and views over the Odet create a particularly gentle atmosphere, while Île-Tudy has a different charm, with its small fishermen's houses, narrow streets and beaches stretching for several kilometres. Between the two, the landscape is constantly changing, moving from estuary to ocean, from harbours to dunes and from coastal paths to wide sandy beaches.

And then there is the simple freedom to choose according to the mood of the moment. A beach for a few hours, a walk in the fresh air, lunch by the water, a trip out on the sea or simply the pleasure of looking out towards the horizon: the proximity of the coast offers countless reasons to leave the house, without the sea needing to be the destination for an entire day. As the seasons change, these same places reveal themselves differently, between the liveliness of the warmer months and the calm of the beaches out of season. The sea then becomes a familiar backdrop, always close by yet never quite the same.

Perhaps that is ultimately the charm of this house: enjoying the peace and space of the countryside while having the sea close enough for it to become part of everyday life. Not simply a place to spend a day, but a horizon that can be rediscovered often, according to the seasons and the mood of the moment.
